Art Portfolio > Drywall Slabs

The materials in the installations and the sculptural wall pieces are intended to draw upon cultural associations of color, texture and form. However, drywall is very literally the material we are surrounded by constantly. Used in the construction of our homes, work and recreational areas, it is truly a witness to our life experiences. The slabs of wall are reworked with both intentional and circumstantial mark making and deterioration. They serve as relics of everything that has happened around them. The cloth, functions to cover and heal in different phases, even itself becoming eroded.
